Dying my hair...

For a long time now I have really wanted to dye my hair. In the summer I'm planing do do something very bright. However right at this time I'm still at school and there are some very strict rules about dying hair.
I say strict because even though its an absolute no no, pretty much 65% of the pupils do have dyed hair of some sort.

As the title of my blog suggests I am a ginger, when I was younger I was very bright ginger however now its got a lot more dull. It is still ginger but has a much more brown tone to it.

I didn't want to dye my whole head on account of wanting to stay ginger and I wanted to dip dye it blonde but decided that would be a tad obvious if I walk into school half blonde so I decided to go a much darker slightly red colour. yay

I decided to do a semi permanent dye as it washes out in 28 washes and this will bring me nicely up to the Easter holidays where I thought a change would be nice. so after looking at many a different dyes online. I went to Superdrug and chose 'superdrug crème sensations' in 'Black cherry'  (which I didn't even see online)
Some thing I would mention is that buying hair dyes online is probably not the best option unless you know exactly what you want (e.g. have used that colour before) but I think going to the shop and seeing the colours in person is a good idea. You wouldn't want to be disappointed when it arrived. And you want to get the correct shade you had in mind or even just to have a browse at all the colours.

In the random things it says about the product it says 'conditioning colour with supurb shine and no ammonia' it also says with keratin and how it is super easy to use. I'll get back to you and show you the results.

QOTD: have you dyed you hair if so what colours? Also have you ever used the superdrug dye?

June Favourites

Wow this month has been VERY busy (as you will know if you have been keeping up with the 30 day snap) and that means I've not had too much time for different products but here they are so I hope you enjoy...

  1.  Color club nail polish in Reign in Spain.
I love this colour and it manages to be a pastel coral and a neon coral at the same time (What!!!????)
I love it and will be one of my summer faves,
which is weird because I don't normally go for oranges or pinks let alone coral.

2. Collection 2000 nail care 2in1 strengthener and hardener with calcium
Wow that is a long name. I have had this product for a while and this is my second bottle.
Recently my nails have been really sad and soft (because I don't really have too much calcium in my life).
I love this and because its clear I can wear it for school *whoo whoo*
It takes a week or so to work but it makes your nails stronger and that's always a bonus.

3. Daisy head band from Primark
This was £1.50 or £2 I forget but its so pretty and subtle for the summer.
If you don't want to wear a full head band of flowers this is a great hand band that is comfy and for such a great price why now get this for the summer.

4. Yes to carrot leave in conditioner
I have really enjoyed this over the past few months and I do believe it has actually helped my hair be less dry and it looks more happy. And who doesn't want happy hair for the summer. It was also pretty cheap as I bought it when it was on sale from ASOS.

I'm sorry there is only four products this month but I thought I would only add in the one's I have really been enjoying. not just put them in for no reason. hope you enjoyed...speak soon.

QOTD: What have you been enjoying this month? Any product suggestions? Any blogs I should read?

Models own: Jack Frost

So the other day on ASOS.com they had a bit of a sale on some items and included in these things were a few models own nail polishes. Now I'm a big fan of models own but never really want to spend £5 on one nail polish finding them in a sale is very over exciting.
In the end out of the wonderland collection I went for Jack frost.
This is over a blue polish and the accent nail is Barry M
This is a glitter top coat so it is clear and has shiny white glitter in it that changes different colours
e.g. blue and pick. this type of glitter excites me ALOT and so this nail polish is great.
It brightens and changes up any nail polish and really make your nails pop.
I love this colour and I think the quality is great. it has a thick formula but doesn't take very long at all to dry (big bonus). So go on and get your hands on this amazing collection.

QOTD: Do you like this polish? Any suggestions for polishes?
Do you have this if so what are your oppinions?

Birchbox: June 2013

Yes that's right (If you haven't guessed already) I have received my first ever Birchbox.
I got this as a birthday present from my mum and I got a few moths subscription (don't know how long for exactly). And this pleased me Immensely.

I have to say a huge well done to Birchbox for this month its made me sooooo excited for future months.

This month I got 6 products =] And it included 2...yes 2 nail polishes !!!!!

Colour club nail polish -
I as did apparently most of Birchbox subscribers received 2 colour club polishes. I received 'Reign in Spain' and 'Pardon my French'. 'Reign in Spain' is an amazing neon coral colour and 'Pardon my French' is a beautiful bright pastel purple. I am certainly looking forward to wearing these throughout summer. This is a 7ml sample but a full size one is 15ml but I think it's a seriously lovely sample.
My picture didn't show the colours well so I found a picture on Google.

Laura Geller Beauty Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner-
This is a very lovely product not only have I been meaning to pick up a gel eye liner for ages but its such a lovely/expensive brand. This lasts all day and will need a good make up remover to take it off so possibly for me it's not an every day...liner but oh well. I love it and it's probably weird to say but I love the brush too. you pull the brush out and twist it round and clip it back in again to get a lovely, soft and useful brush.

Noble Isle 'Fireside' bath and shower gel -
This product is nice and I do appreciate it and it does the job. however I'm not too keen on the smell...I don't hate it and I certainly don't love it but. It is a nice high end product and it keeps my mum happy. This is a 30ml bottle which is a decent sample and my mum has enjoyed using it.

Beauty protector - protect and detangle leave in conditioner -
Honestly I haven't tried this product yet. but it certainly smells very nice and its a great size both for travelling and a really big sample size. It definitely claims to do a lot, and if it's any good I'll be sure to let you know in a favourites video.

Coola classic sunscreen - spf 30
This is a sun cream specifically for your face. It's meant to cool and sooth you face as well as protecting it from the sun and this all sounds very good to me. however me being rather pale. in other countries I have to wear SPF 50 on my face, But I might get away with 30 in London so I will give it ago the next sunny day we have. *Laughs to self*

So this is it for this month its been a fabulous time/box and I am so looking forward to writing about next months box. fingers crossed that it's a good one.

QOTD: Are you subscribed to Birchbox? What did you receive this month? Have you got any of these products if so any comments on them?

Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Waterproof eye liner: Review

I am quite impressed with this I have to say. At the time that I picked it up, I had to choose something for less than £8 and it would be free in a 3 for 2 offer. Read about that here.
From the Soap and Glory cosmetic range only a few things were less than £8 so I thought I'd give the eye liner a go because I love to try different eye liners.
It comes with a sharpener attached to the lid which I like because the sharpener is not in the lid so there will be no accidents when it comes to twisting the pencil by accident.
(The sharpener does not touch the pencil unless you want it too)

I got the brown colour (cocoa bean) I chose this because brown is a softer, more subtle look.
So far I like it. It has a very creamy formula and goes on very smoothly.

I think the colour pay off is really nice and it lasts a while as it is supposed to be waterproof, however I don't know if it lasts as long as I would like. It lasts a good few hours maybe 4-6 but for me I'm still waiting to find one that lasts all day and I'm yet to find it.

This cost £5 which is pretty good value but at the back of my mind there is a little voice telling me that there's probably a cheaper one out there that does just the same thing. But I'm happy and I will defiantly continue to use this product.

QOTD: Have you tried this product? Will you give it a go now? Is there anything else you want to know?
Have you got any eye liners for me to try that are really good?

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara: Review

I think that this is one of my favourite mascaras. Normally when mascaras say they give volume they make your lashes all clump together and look yucky. But this absolutely does not do that. it makes you lashes look longer and more full and SUPER black.

Normally I go for brown mascaras but I knew I liked the formula so I went for it. This is £10 which isn't too bad especially for a great make and a great formula.

Soap and glory has always been one of my favourite brands with there yummy smells and fun products. And this product lives up to the expectations.

The brush looks like this which I like because it doesn't make your lashes clup but fan out and still make the product easy to apply. I wouldn't say the formula was particularly wet or very dry which i like and after it is on your lashes it doesn't feel heavy.

This is a before and after picture:

I would defiantly say you should try this out if your partial to some super black thickening mascara.

QOTD: Have you tried this? After reading this are you thinking of picking it up?
Do you like these reviews is there anything else you want to know?

MUA: Lipstick Review

I love MUA products. I have to admit to only having one lipstick. But my sister has 4. And I will definitely get more. I want shade 10 and 14 (bare). But haven't found them in store yet.

Lets start off with I really like MUA products. The're all cheap and most things are pretty good. I think their lipsticks and the best. MUA quite often have 3 for 2 on almost all things and so do Superdrug. so why not pick up 3 lipsticks for £2 (well even for £3 its a bargain)

They are only £1 and are just so nice, and really good pigment and quality. They also last a long time which is good (who wants a lipstick that rubs off after 10 seconds).

They have a space at the bottom that you can twist off and there is more lippy in the bottom. Just twist and you can use a brush or your finger.
It's so cool...It makes me happy don't judge.
I have heard people compare them to M.A.C lipsticks but not owning one myself I couldn't say. They do have quite a few colours about 17 or 18 but I'd love to see more nudes. But that's just my taste.
14, 2, 10, 3, 7
Their colours range from shimmers to plain and from lights to darks so there is a colour for everyone. But pick wisely and test them using the testers. as they may come up differently then they look.

I'm loving MUA products and I think I always will, so definitely go try them and their lipsticks for yourself.

QOTD: What's your favourite MUA product? What's your favourite shade of their lipstick?

Anatomicals: snog me senseless lip balm review

In my Asos haul I purchased this lip balm for £2.55 (absolute steal), and I have been seriously surprised by it, in a good way. Now I have to make the confession of having a mint lip balm obsession. And I mean that, I've got about 5 different mint lip balms. But lets talk about the anatomical one.

I think there packaging is such fun :)

First off for £2.55 it is such good value lets compare it to a carmex (which I also love) the anatomicals one feels bigger although its apparently about the same size. Now I can just tell that this is going to last me along time as I always have so many lip balms on the go at once. On the back it says that once opened use in 24 months so it lasts for a good 2 years. This pleases me as I don't like products that get useless after a couple of months.
It's minty.... this is almost enough for me to be happy but I love that it feels so light on your lips and leaves a tingly feeling due to the mint.
Obviously your lips are under your nose so the mintyness smells amazing for quite a long time.

I like the applicator on this (as you can see its an angled applicator) compared to the carmex.

I like its liquidyness (can't think of a better word) because it makes it super easy to apply and absorb.

I would defiantly buy this again and want to try the 'stop cracking up lip balm' also by 'Anatomicals'.

'Anatomicals' is one of my new favourite brands with such fun packaging and fun names for everything. And i'm already looking into other products from them.

QOTD: Do you have anything from Anatomicals? Do you like it? Any suggestions for me?

Yes to carrots: super rich body butter

I was given a mini sample set of 'yes to carrot' products for Christmas and I have been loving them... I have done a review on the lip balm so you can go and check that out. But now for the moisturiser. dun dun dun.

Before we even begin I have to say I LOVE this and I think it is soooooo lovely that I have already ordered another one (full size). You are meant to put it all over your body but I just put it on my face.

This is mostly used up now I just thought i would show you how much I have left
I don't use this every day, I tend to use it every now and then before I go to bed (on the days when my skin feels sad). I always use it after the shower and when I wake up the next morning my face feels so soft and just lovely. This soaks in really well and it smells amazing. In fact my mum came into my room after I had used it and asked 'what that lovely smell was' and I just love how soft it makes my skin and hydrated my face feels. Also I feel as though when my face feels this soft I feel more awake and ready to go.

You only need a bit. A bit here and there goes a long way. My sampler is 50ml and it has lasted me for about 6 months and a full size is £10-13 and 250ml so about 5 times the size. Yay
*I would definitely suggest for you all to go and buy it so go now. =] *

QOTD: Have you tried it? Will you? What is your favourite face cream?

April Favourites

Wow the time has come again for me to do my may favourites. I possibly won't do one of these every month on account of not using that many different things every month but I hope you enjoy.

First I have been loving the 'Garnier skin natural pure Active 3 in 1 face scrub' wow that was a long name. You simply wet your face and hands. Squeeze a little out and scrub all over your face. I like to leave it about 4-5 minutes while it gets harder and then wash off. I have found that this has really helped to control any breakouts and it makes my face feel so soft afterwards as it scrubs all the dead skin off.

This month I have also been loving the 'Garnier Essentials hydrating day care face moisturiser' I really enjoy this after I scribed and washed my face or after a shower. I love to hydrate my face and keep it all smooth. Now although it does soak in pretty quickly I like to use this at night time as it leaves my face quite shiney until it does soak in. This is great and I think I payed £2 for it in a sale but the normal price is only about £5. I this this is really good and it glides on so smoothly and leaves my face feeling refreshed and ready to relax and go to bed.

sorry my camera hates photo graphing green things. sorry

I have been loving the body shop lip balm in passion berry and think I may review it in full another time. But one of the reasons I love it so much is the smell. (comment down below if yo have smelled it)

I have also been loving Instagram as I have been doing the #aprilchallange so you post a picture everyday of the thing it tells you to here's a picture if you would like to check mine out you can @Alice_leonard1 I have been loving that you can keep up with people whoever they are and see what they are up to. I also like it as I love taking photos and I feel that this is a great way to do so. And to share them with anyone who wants to look. (as my iPod is never very far away)

Last one I promise. Tv show I have been loving is broad church although its finished for now (coming soon though apparently) I watched the very first episode and I needed to find out the killer. I have been hooked and although at the end got a little angry at how slow it seemed. But after the final episode I looked back and thought it was pretty good.

So that's it for this month I hope you enjoyed it feel free to follow me on Instagram and follow my blog I would love it thanks for reading. xxx Alice

QOTD: Did you watch broadchurch? did you like it/the ending? could you think of a better one?comment below xxx

Barry M - Gelly nail paint: REVIEW

Hello, it’s me again. And I have a confession to make…I am addicted to buying nail polish.
Yes it’s true; I have so many it’s ridiculous. I have literally every colour of the rainbow and more.
But yet I always want a new shade, And I always find new shades that excite me and when I see that shade… I have to have it.
Okay, I have to make the confession of not being that bothered about the make. Now yes I really want and Essie nail polish (I know for some reason I don’t have one) but somehow I can’t bring myself to spend £10 on a nail varnish, for me it’s just too much. However I love that moment of excitement you find the perfect shade for your outfit or even for your mood.
So this will be my first nail varnish review:
Barry M – Gelly - Hi-Shine Nail Paint

I have 303 – Green Berry which I just love.
The only way I can describe it is by saying a turquoise pastel colour but with a hint of neon.
I say this because at first glance I thought it was a pastel colour, but when I put it on it was so thick and so shiny that it almost looked neon.
I absolutely adore this colour and I think it would be perfect for the summer and the spring time.
These come in an array of colours and at only £3.99 each I think they are a total bargain and I will DEFINATLY buy more colours. Though I do hope they continue this rage and come out with more in the future.

Off the Barry M website (colour choices)

Turquoise Maxi:

Hey it’s me again and today I’m here to tell you about this pretty maxi skirt I found in Primark. It’s my favourite colour (turquoise) and I thought it would be just gauges for the spring but amazing in the summer. And I cannot wait to wear it.

I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to wear it with yet but I’ll think of something. It was £10 in Primark and I think that’s a total bargain. (Defiantly a steal) So like I said I cannot wait to wear it. Here are a few pics to tickle your taste buds
*sorry there not great, but it’s really hard to get a good picture of the whole thing*
