***Disclaimer before we start I am in no way a expert or hair dresser so dip dye
with caution but I hope you still like this post***
1. Choose the correct dye. I chose the semi permanent 'super drug crème sensations' in 'Black cherry' I warn you that if you want this to last, don't go for a semi permanent because it doesn't take long to dull down and wash out.
2. Get ready. I'd say preparation is one of the key points, from everything to choosing the right dye to preparing the work space where your going to do it. I would suggest a bathroom or somewhere where there isn't anything around that could get stained or ruined. ALSO wear an old t-shirt and trousers even if you take precautions I still got dye on the top so don't wear anything you don't mind getting ruined. Also it will take longer than you think
3. Lay everything out. I put an old towel out on a workspace where I layed out anything I would need. I cut the tin foil up into the correct sized pieces as your hands can get messy and its a pain to do when you have dye on your hands.
4. Mix up the dye. Mix it up read the dye instructions first. I applied mine to damp towel dried hair that hadn't been conditioned the previous wash (this is meant to help the dye show up better)
5. Section off your hair. This is crucial as you don't just want to just apply it all in one go as it wont get through to every hair.
6. Section off the sections and start applying the dye. I used a tinting brush and simply squished a bit of dye on each section and made sure it was completely covered with the tinting brush. just make sure the dye goes on both sides and goes up to wear you want it. These are slightly different lengths so it blends better together.
7.Blend the ends up. This is good to do and will make the finished result look a lot better. this is also achieved by only do really small sections of hair at a time. What I suggest is to get the brush longways and make sure it's not one straight line as this wont look good.
Warning this took me about 2 hours so be prepared for how long it takes!!!
This is the finished result I love it and am so happy with it.
